Welcome to the website of the Wakefield Methodist Circuit. We are a group of
Christians in 14 Churches across the Wakefield area, stretching as far north as Woodlesford and as far south as Crigglestone. A diverse Group of Christian
Communities Serving a varied set of needs. We seek to show love to the communities that we're in and exercise a ministry of love, care and concern to all we meet.You'll get a warm welcome at any of our congregations. Please drop in and visit any of our Church communities. 

The calling of the Methodist Church is to respond to the Gospel of God's love in Christ and to live out its discipleship in worship and mission.

Inspired by Our Calling, we aim to:

• increase awareness of God's presence and to celebrate God's love.

• help people to grow & learn as Christians through mutual support & care.
• be a good neighbour to people in need and to challenge injustice.
• make more followers of Jesus Christ.

Our Vision is:

To live out the Gospel message of Jesus Christ wherever we are, reaching out to the local community through the principles of our calling, which encourages each church to be an authentic witness through worship, learning and caring, service and evangelism.

Our Mission is:

            Wherever we have a Methodist presence in a community the Wakefield Circuit will
            endeavour to support that presence in its mission through the responsible use of
            the resources of the Circuit, which includes people, both lay and ordained, 
            buildings and finance. Wherever possible and appropriate, we will seek to work in
            partnership with others of goodwill. This will include, but not be limited to, our

            ecumenical partners. Where this is not possible, and where there are adequate
            resources in the Circuit, then at the direction of the Circuit Meeting, appropriate 
            support will be given.
